PROJECT TITLE:OUR LEISURE TIME AND HOBBIES
1.       The Define Phase
1.1 Introduction:
§  Write a statement describing the overall purpose of the project.
§  What is the key challenge or problem the project is aiming to address?
§  What are students intended to learn from the project?
Everyone is interested in something. It can be a hobby or just a pastime. In this project we shall give the participants the opportunity to enter the world of hobbies. We want them to introduce the  hobbies and interests of their peers,elders and old people and share their passions so that we can compare how similar and different interests across the different people are.
The participants will be asked to discuss different topics related to free time and hobbies,  give presentations on the most popular activities and pastimes in their region, and interview their schoolmates and parents on their hobbies in secondary school. The project information will be uploaded on the project website.


1.2 Project Scope:
Describe the scope of your project. This may include class and section, subjects it covers, soft skills to be used etc. as well as other factors affecting scope.

How I Taught My Grandmother To Read
The project will be undertaken by the class of
 40 students and the culminating product will be shared by the school.
The task requires students to prepare a questionnaire for 40 people, and conduct a research based on the questions.
The student also writes a detailed report that discusses the findings of their research. The report aims at analyzing the data collected.

1.6 Learning Environment:
Describe the learning environment for the project including any classroom adaptation that will be required.
§     The class of 40 students will be divided into four groups of 10 students each. Each group will be allotted the following
Group 1- Preparation of questionnaires, conducting the survey,                    analysis of surveyand Presentation of report (10 people)
Group 2- Preparation of questionnaires, conducting the survey,                    analysis of surveyand Presentation of report(Another 10 people )
Group 3- Preparation of questionnaires, conducting the survey,                    analysis of surveyand Presentation of report (Another 10 people )

§     Teacher’s announcements will address the whole class as a group.
§     Each group will choose the group leader and will plan their strategy and submit it to the teacher.
§     All the group members will submit their work to their group leaders.
§     Peer assessment will be done among the groups.
§     Solve problems that arise in the groups.
§     Reflect and evaluate their work first in the group, then with the whole class.
§     The groups will be mixed groups of boys and girls.
§     Children with different skills will be in a group.
§     The final product will be a compilation of survey of 40 people

1.7 Assessment Approach:
Describe the approach for:
1.71 Authentic Assessment:
Ø Students will document their work in their portfolios.
Ø They will take photographs of their work
1.72 Formative Assessment:

The student prepares a questionnaire and takes readings from 40 randomly selected people, preferably of their residential locality.
The questionnaire would contain questions related to the hobbies that people in the area keep.
Based on the findings of the questionnaire, the student writes a report
 The student also pastes pictures of several interesting hobbies that they come across during the survey.
The student can paste a picture of himself/herself, showing him/her pursuing the hobby that he/she has.
Ø A question-answer session will be held.
Ø Students will make questionnaires on their research work
Ø Their work will be monitored by the teacher and suggestions will be given time to time.
1.73 Summative Assessment:
Ø  The students will write reports. Survey questionnaires to be prepared.
Ø  The students will be asked to present them before the school.

1.75 Grading:

2.1 Work Breakdown, Products and Milestones:
List the project task and, if possible at this stage include the sub-tasks. For each task add the product that will be created and indicate it will be a milestone.

Aim

Experiences

A survey was recently conducted to find out about the Hobbies of peers,elders and old people (Total number-40)  ranging between the age of 14 and 80.This survey was given to 10 students in each group. This report presents the findings, conclusion and recommendations that have resulted from the survey. The survey enabled the members  to learn cultural lessons with regard to hobbies and free time.They enjoyed the learning process and discovered the hobbies which people have in their region.The members found the work challenging and rewarding.

Report on the Survey

Introduction

A survey was recently conducted among 40people ranging in the age group of 14 and 80 to find out about thei leisure time and hobbies .This survey was given to 10 students each in 4 groups of  class IX B. This report presents the findings, conclusion and recommendations that have resulted from the survey
Findings
The survey found that all the respondents had a hobby. The survey asked the respondents how long they had been doing their hobby. The majority of the respondents said that they had been doing their hobby for more than 5 years.



The most popular hobby was reading books, 53 percent of respondents did this hobby. They  read books at school, at home, and in library.They liked reading books because they could learn more knowledge.  Some of the respondents were interested in other hobbies like watching TV,gardening, cooking,stitching,painting and drawing,and travelling mostly because these activities were interesting and exciting.All the respondents had the hobby that they wanted to try.

Ans  Regular work habits 80%.Those who have regular work habits justified their position by saying that they are engaged in

  •             getting up early,going to church,involving in the activities of Residential Association

The journey of discovering the likes and dislikes of people under survey was  a wonderful Summary or Conclusions

According to the information collected in the survey, more than half of the respondents liked reading books for learning more knowledge and  many read at home It is advisable  that students read books at school, especially in the school library. Moreover, we can teach them to have a useful way to learn the knowledge from the books, also how to choose a good book


Suggestions

Reading club should function in every school.
It is also recommended to have various hobby clubs in institutions
